Karakura Town

Kurosaki Ichigo
He was a 15-year-old guy. But now he should be older, as the episodes progress. He does not look 15 at all. And he is special. He is gifted at birth as he is able to see ghosts and has high spiritual power. That is why hollows are always after him. Hollows are ghost-like creatures that feed on souls. Later, Ichigo would get intertwined with the Shinigami (Deathgods or Soul Reapers) and become one himself. Funny fact: Ichigo means Strawberry in Japanese.

Kuchiki Rukia
Rukia is the Shinigami who came to Ichigo's house to bust the Hollow. She failed to do the job in the end and Ichigo had to obtain her powers to beat the Hollow. Rukia has a bad temper. Funny fact: Rukia likes drawing ugly bunny pictures

Inoue Orihime
Inoue is Ichigo's friend with the big kaboos. She hangs close to Ichigo for protection. Due to Ichigo's extraordinary power surge after obtaining the Shinigami powers, Orihime too gets some powers and often aids Ichigo in battle. Funny fact: Orihime can be surprisingly dumb at times...

Yasutora Sado aka Chad
Chad is Ichigo's friend with the big fists. He is the Brazilian-looking guy who really knows how to throw a punch. Due to Ichigo's extraordinary power surge after obtaining the Shinigami powers, Chad too gets some powers and often aids Ichigo in battle. Funny fact: Chad often likes wearing pink and he likes cute stuff.

Ishida Uryuu
Ishida is the super thin guy who looks like a cool geek. He is Ichigo's rival and he has a different set of powers. He is not a Shinigami, but rather a Quincy. Funny fact: He is good at sewing.

Kon
Kon is the Bleach mascot. He is actually a mod-soul (Konpaku). A mod-soul is an artificial soul developed by the Shinigami researchers from Soul Society. Mod-souls are meant to be stuffed into lifeless bodies so that they can become active again, or something like that. Mod-souls often do not have brains. They are just souls made for a special purpose, with a certain ability. Kon is one of those mod-souls that are different. He has a brain and he is classified as defective. Kon was later brought to the real world in a mix (you need to watch this yourself), and in the end, he did not want to get sent back to Soul Society for termination, so Rukia stuffed him into an Orange Lion soft toy that squeaks. Kon's ability is being able to jump high and kick hard, but since he got into the orange lion, he seemed to have lost that. Funny fact: Kon is amorous.

Kurosaki Isshin
Ichigo's dad. He makes funny jokes (sometimes more to the sick side), and gets kicked or punched by his children. He often talks to his deceased wife's portrait. Despite his wackiness, he is actually a responsible father. And he is actually a (spoiler here. Hehe). Funny fact: He maybe a little loose up in the head but he is a doctor.

Ishida Ryuuken
Ishida Uryuu's dad. He is a father that Ishida Uryuu did not respect. I do not understand why, because he sure is tough! He can destroy a Menos Grande (Big Hollow) with one shot.

Kurosaki Yuzu
Kurosaki Yuzu is Ichigo's sister. She cannot see ghosts, unlike her brother and sister. She is cheerful and naive, much like Inoue Orihime. Funny fact: She makes Kon wear dresses.

Kurosaki Karin
Kurosaki Karin is Ichigo's sister. She can see ghosts too, and she is a Bad Ass. She really knows how to beat people up. On the soccer field, she is twice the boy any boy is. Funny fact: No, there is nothing funny about her.

Urahara Kisuke
Urahara is the owner of a provisions shop in Karakura town. Strangely, he sells stuff similar to those from Soul Society, and he knows a lot about Shinigami and Hollows.

Tessai
He is Urahara's spellbinder. He can definitely join pro-wrestling, but he works for Urahara and can cast various spells.

Jenta
The kid with red hair and an attitude who works for Urahara. He likes bullying Ururu.

Ururu
Ururu is a pushover girl who works for Urahara. A mysterious girl with shinigami powers. Though without a zanpakutou (Shinigami's sword), she can fight at Shinigami level.

Arisawa Tatsuki
This girl is like Kurosaki Karin. She is a martial artist and is able to see ghosts too. She always tries to protect Orihime when she is bullied by guys.

Shinigami

Supreme Commander Yamamoto
He is the oldest of the Shinigami. He is bald and has a long beard. Any fatter and he would be a great Santa. He is the 1st Squad's Captain, and that makes him the Commander of all the squads too. His zanpakutou (Shinigami's sword) is a fire-type. Funny Fact: He still has a ripped body with muscles!

Yamamoto's Vice
This is Yamamoto's Vice Captain. Nothing much is known about him. But he has an impressive zanpakutou that can transform into a saber!

Soi Fong
The 2nd Squad's Captain. She is small but deadly. Her zanpakutou transforms into a small spike-like thingy that fits on her finger. One pierce of venom from that horrific madness would make a butterfly tattoo on wherever you got pierced. Another pierce on the same spot would be fatal. But I don't understand, why not just have powerful venom that can kill with just one hit, like a sting-ray.

Oo Maeda
Soi Font's vice captain. A big guy who looks middle-aged. Seldom appears in the show. Probably useless.

Ichimaru Gin
The guy with purple hair. Captain of the 3rd squad. With one look, we can tell. He is pure evil. His zanpakutou has near-infinite elongations. Funny fact: He has the widest mouth.

Kira
This blonde kid is Ichimaru Gin's vice captain. His zanpakutou is one of the most powerful in Soul Society when it comes to melee combat. Each touch would double the weight of the target object.

Retsu Unohana
This is one nice woman. As captain of the 4th squad, her job is to heal wounded Shinigami. In fact, the 4th squad is one big hospital. Their healing is top-notch. Funny fact: In one episode, she transported some people around using a flying-pillow creature. Could be her bankai. It looked like a pokemon.

Isane
Retsu Unohana's obedient little vice captain. She maybe a vice and she maybe in 4th squad but she does fight.

Hanatarou
One of the 4th squad members. Because of his small size, he often gets bullied by Shinigami jerks. He is featured a lot in Bleach the anime.

Kuchiki Byakuya
The captain of the 5th squad. He is tall and stuck-up. He wears hair-clips like a girl. OK, he is still powerful. Amongst the most powerful in Soul Society. His Zanpakutou can disperse into flying petals to slice up the opponent. When in Bankai mode (Zanpakutou's Bankai = 2nd transformation or Level 3) he uses a swarm of petals. Think Gaara from Naruto, but pink petals instead of the sand. Funny fact: I think he like pink.

Abarai Renji
Byakuya's vice. One of the protagonists of the Bleach anime. Ichigo is not enough. We need one more red-head. He has tattooed eyebrows and also a stuck-up attitude. Funny fact: His Zanpakutou is a snake-tailed Baboon!

Aizen Sousuke
Captain of the 6th squad. Looks kind and harmless, right? He is often in arguments with Ichimaru Gin. Funny fact: He wears old-fashioned glasses.

Komamura
The captain of 7th Squad. This is one big guy. His zanpakutou, when in Bankai mode, would summon a huge yamato samurai giant (think ancient samurai with armor). But why is he wearing that bucket? Is he afraid to show his Freddy-Kruger face? Well, one episode, he would be forced to reveal his true complexion. Then, you would find out.

Iba Tatsuzaemon
Komamura's Vice. He looks like The Conman Rob Conway from WWE (is Rob Conway still in the WWE? I am not sure). Cool huh? With shades and all. But he is actually the opposite. Comical and silly.

Kyoraku Shunsui
Dirty Captain of the 8th squad with bad habits. He drinks, lazes around... he maybe smoking dope too. Who knows? But he is pretty powerful and fast. Funny fact: I think he likes pink too!

Nanao
Nanao is Shunsui's vice. This geeky girl is the captain's conscience, actually. She does all the work too, whilst Kyoraku Shunsui lazes around in his pink bathrobe and fishing hat.

Kaname Tousen
Tousen is the 9th squad captain African Shinigami with a strong sense of Justice. He is blind as a bat. But like some Blind Africans (S. Wonder), he is a great man. I am starting to believe that he does not need those eyes. He can smell you right from India. His Zanpakutou's Bankai is great too. It lets you share his darkness. He creates an orb around the opponent disabling him/her sight, hearing and smell. Then he chops the opponent down. Funny fact: He looks like "Davids" who plays (or used to play) at Inter Milan. In the show, he has 2 different looks. Which one do you like better? The first one "Davids" or the second "Star Trek style"?

Hisagi
Tousen's sidekick Vice Captain. Hisagi is fast and furious. He has a bad attitude and no sleeves. But he has a visible marking on his face: 69.

Hitsugaya
This kid is the 10th squad captain. He is a kid but his hair is all white. I'm guessing it's in his DNA. His zanpakutou, when released, is an ice dragon. The illogicality continues as Hitsugaya shows that he has better and more mature thinking compared to the rest. Funny fact: I still think he is not old enough to appreciate the Vice Captain assigned to him... see below

Matsumoto
She is Hitsugaya's Vice Captain. She often gets ordered around by the kid. This red-head is wacky as hell and she has the biggest assets in the show.

Zaraki Kenpachi
This Arnold Schwarzenegger look-alike murdered the previous 11th squad captain to take his place. Then, he reigned supreme. He has only one feeling. Bloodlust. He does not know his Zanpakutou's name (but perhaps he does, after a certain battle). He does not know how to use his Zanpakutou's Shikai (level 2) or Bankai (level 3). All he does is release his massive Reiatsu (energy) and slice and dice. Funny fact: He has bells in his hair

Yachiru
Zaraki found Yachiru long ago. Yachiru is still a baby, but she has high-speed skills, therefore, proving worthy of Zaraki's vice-captain spot. Funny fact: She gives people strange nicknames. For example, Inoue=Jiggly and Ishida=Pencil

Madarame Ikkaku
A strong 11th squad member. He taught Abarai Renji how to fight. Rumors say that he can use Bankai too. He has history with Zaraki Kenpachi, therefore, refusing to serve under other squads. Or else, he would have become Captain of some other squad. Funny fact: He is the shiniest of 'em all.

Yumichika
Yumichika is a member of the 11th squad. Codename: Sissy boy. Enough said.

Kurotsuchi Mayori
This guy wears a silly hat and paints his face black. He runs sick experiments because he is the head of the research team, the 12th squad. Funny fact: He cannot close his mouth. His smile is the closest he can get.

Kurotsuchi Nemu
Kurotsuchi Mayori's vice is his daughter, Kurotsuchi Nemu. How the hell did he find a wife, you may ask. The answer is simple. He didn't! Then how did he get a daughter? Well, he created her. It's a robot or some freakish creation of some kind. Nemu is super obedient.

Ukitake
The captain of the last squad. Unlucky 13. Bad fengshui for him. He coughs a lot and is always seen sick, but does not die. Zire Buzzette. Probably bald too. He could be wearing a wig. But as a captain, he is real concerned. A selfless soul. We need more of these people in the World nowadays.

Ganju
He lives in Soul Society with his gang and wild boars. This guy can sure cast some deadly spells, but he is still a clown of the show.

Shiba Kuukaku
Runner up for the Big Asset contest. Overall, a bad-tempered lady who is twice the man Ganju is... if you know what I mean. She is powerful like hell.

Yoruichi
Sheesh! Unlucky black cat. Don't get fooled. This cat is a person in disguise. It talks. No, this is not Salem Saberhagen. It is Yoruichi, former leader of the Soul Society's covert-ops force (like ninjas). She transform into a black cat when she needs to go to the real world.
